About Woodfield Court

Woodfield Court is a residential care home in Stowmarket, Suffolk. We are home to older people who need support with daily life, and we welcome people for respite stays, whether to recover after a spell in hospital or to give a family carer a proper break. We are small enough for everybody here to be known properly, and that is the basis of everything else. Our team notices when somebody eats less than usual, sleeps badly, seems low or becomes unsteady on their feet, and it gets acted on the same day rather than at a review in a month's time. Residents decide how their own days go. When to get up and go to bed, what to eat, whether to sit with others in the lounge or keep to their own room. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and nobody comes in without knocking. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour and we would far rather families were involved in decisions than told afterwards. We are careful not to take over the things people can still manage for themselves, because independence lost is hard to win back. Health needs are looked after alongside local GPs and community nurses, and families hear from us early when anything changes. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and see us in Stowmarket.
