About Cheddle Lodge
Cheddle Lodge is a residential care home in Stockport. We support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people with physical disabilities, including those living with sight or hearing loss. Most of the people who live here are younger adults. We plan support around the person rather than the other way round. That begins with how someone communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and what they would like to be able to do. Some people need help with almost every part of the day and some need very little, and both deserve the same care in the planning. The building and the routine matter as much as the support itself. Clear layouts, good lighting, quiet space and a day that runs predictably remove a great deal of difficulty for people with sensory impairments or sensory sensitivities. Life here should look like life anywhere. People go out, see family and friends, choose their own activities and keep up the interests they had before moving in. Where someone wants more independence, we work towards it in steps rather than ruling it out on their behalf. Respite stays are available for families who need a planned break. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you would like to look round, please contact us and we will arrange a time that suits you.
