About Dystlegh Grange
We are Dystlegh Grange, a residential care home near Stockport. We look after older people who are finding it difficult to manage at home, including people with physical disabilities, and we also take respite bookings. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that, and we are also clear about what it means. It is not a guarantee that nothing will ever go wrong here. It reflects the fact that we know the people who live here well, that our staff are supported properly, and that when something needs putting right we deal with it rather than explaining it away. In daily life that shows in small ways. People get up and go to bed when they choose. Meals are what somebody actually wants to eat. Their own furniture and pictures come with them and their habits come first. Where somebody has a physical disability, we pay proper attention to access, equipment and moving about, so that those needs are met without fuss and do not come to shape the whole of their day. We are also careful to support what people can still do for themselves, because losing that unnecessarily is very hard to reverse. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us and come and see the home for yourself.
