About Westminster House Residential Care
Westminster House Residential Care is in Westcliff On Sea, near Southend on Sea. We are a residential home for older people and adults with mental health needs, including people with eating disorders and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse, and we offer respite stays alongside longer placements. We are a house rather than a unit, and we work to keep that distinction real. People here have their own rooms and their own routines and a genuine say in how the household runs, from meals to the shape of the week. For many people arriving with us, simply having somewhere settled and unhurried to be is most of what helps. What we provide is stability and attention: support with medication and appointments, help with the practical parts of the day, and staff who are around, familiar and quick to notice when somebody is finding things harder than usual. Beyond that we follow the person's lead, because people come to us at very different points and progress does not run to anybody else's timetable. We work alongside community mental health teams, social workers, GPs, specialist clinical services and families, and we are clear about what is ours to do and what belongs to others. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering Westminster House for yourself or someone you support, please get in touch and come and see us.
