About Southview
This is a residential care home in Westcliff on Sea supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. It is an ordinary house, and the people who live here are part of the local area rather than separate from it. We build support around each person instead of running everybody to the same pattern. For some people that means help with personal care, cooking and looking after their room and belongings. For others it is about getting out to the things they enjoy, keeping up with college or work, managing money, and having someone dependable alongside in situations that would otherwise be overwhelming. We pay close attention to how each person communicates and to what helps them feel calm and settled, because those two things head off a great deal of distress before it starts. Respite stays are available too, which can give families a planned break and can let someone get used to us in stages rather than all at once. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather state that openly and invite questions than let it pass unmentioned, and we are glad to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our staff. If you would like to come and look round, please get in touch and we will find a time that works.
