About Silver Mews Care Home
Silver Mews Care Home is a residential home in Redcar. We support older people and some younger adults, and we offer both permanent places and respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication and meals, and reassurance that somebody is nearby at night. Many are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day familiar, keep the same staff around and work at their pace rather than ours. We also support people with physical disabilities, where equipment, seating and access decide how much independence somebody actually has, and people living with sight or hearing loss. We want to be straightforward with you. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that here than let you find it elsewhere. We know what the inspectors raised with us, we are working through it, and we are willing to discuss any part of it with families, professionals and the people who live here. What we are working towards is a house that feels like a home, with food cooked on the premises and visitors welcome without appointment. Please come and see us and ask the difficult questions.
