About OSJCT Madley Park House
Madley Park House is a residential care home in Witney, Oxfordshire, and we provide a home for older people who need support with daily living. Respite stays are available too, for planned breaks and for the occasions when a family needs cover quickly. What we try to offer is an ordinary life with help attached rather than a routine everybody has to fit into. Residents decide when to get up, where to sit, whether they want company or quiet, and what they would like to eat. We help with personal care, dressing, medication and mobility, doing only as much as somebody actually needs, because taking over is easy and rarely useful. Dementia care is a large part of our work. The practical side of it is unglamorous: keeping the daily rhythm and the surroundings consistent, giving somebody time to find their words instead of finishing their sentence, and knowing enough about their earlier life to understand what a worry is really about. Families hold most of that knowledge and we ask for it early. Respite bookings are planned with the same care as permanent moves, since a break only rests a family if the person staying here is genuinely settled. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and see us on an ordinary afternoon. A home is much easier to judge when nothing has been arranged for a visitor's benefit, and we would rather you saw us as we are.
