About Millers Grange
Millers Grange is a residential care home in Witney, Oxfordshire. We care for older people, including many living with dementia, and for younger adults, and we take respite bookings for people who need a stay of a few weeks. We try to keep this somewhere that feels like home. Rooms belong to the people in them, complete with their own furniture and photographs. Meals are worth sitting down to, the day has a shape without being a timetable, and nobody is obliged to join in with anything. What we do try to avoid is anyone spending a whole day with nothing going on around them. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the work. Familiar faces, a predictable routine, calm surroundings and time given rather than rushed. We learn about somebody's earlier life so that conversation has something to hold on to, and where a person becomes distressed we look for the cause rather than the label. Our staff know the people living here, which is how changes in health are picked up early and taken to the GP or district nurse before they turn into something serious. We keep close working relationships with local health colleagues around Witney. Families are welcome whenever suits them and are involved in reviews and decisions. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please ring if you would like to look round.
