About University Care 4
University Care runs a residential care home in Nottingham supporting adults with mental health needs, including many younger adults. We are a household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a real say in how the place is run. Mental health support in a care home works best when the house itself is calm, predictable and free of fuss. We keep our staff team as consistent as we can, we get to know people well enough to notice when something has shifted, and we work closely with local mental health services and doctors. Medication is managed carefully and reviewed properly. We also take the view that nobody should be defined by a diagnosis. Residents choose how they spend the day, what they eat, whether they want company and who visits. We will encourage somebody who has become withdrawn, and we will equally respect a person who wants their own space and a closed door. Everyday life includes cooking, shopping, keeping your own room how you want it and getting out into the local area. For younger adults we look at what somebody is trying to build, whether that is work, study or simply more control over their own week, and we support it. Respite stays are available. Please get in touch if you would like to see the house.
