About Camden Care Home

We are Camden Care Home, a residential home supporting older people and younger adults. We care for people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. That is a wide brief, and it means we plan around the individual rather than around a category. With that mix under one roof, a single routine would suit nobody, so we do not run one. People get up when they are ready, eat what appeals to them and spend their days as they choose. What stays constant is that staff know the people here well enough to notice when somebody is struggling with something they would not put into words. For residents living with dementia, we work with their history rather than against their confusion. Familiar faces, an unhurried pace and a routine that makes sense to the person do more good than any activity programme. Support plans are written with the person, reviewed when circumstances change, and used daily rather than filed. We work closely with families, social workers, GPs and community mental health teams. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
