About Spring Bank
We are a residential care home in Nottingham, supporting younger adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with mental health conditions. We also offer respite stays where somebody needs support for a period rather than a permanent move. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased about it, though we are conscious that a rating describes what inspectors found on particular days and that the work is keeping on deserving it. What sits behind it is not glamorous. Knowing the people who live here properly. Paying attention to how each person communicates and what they need from their surroundings. Being careful about change and giving notice before it happens. Keeping our staff long enough that they really know everybody. The aim is a house where people live their own lives with support, not a place that arranges their lives for them. We would rather somebody did something slowly for themselves than had it done quickly for them, and a good measure of how we are doing is how much people can manage without us. We work closely with families and with the professionals involved, and we expect plans to change, because people change and progress is rarely a straight line. If you are a family member or a professional considering a placement or a short stay, please get in touch and we will talk it through openly, including telling you if we would not be the right setting.
