About Sheepwalk House
Sheepwalk House is a residential care home in Nottingham supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions. Many of the people who live here are younger adults, and for most of them this is a long term home rather than a short stop on the way somewhere else. We work on the understanding that a home should look and feel like one. People have their own rooms set out as they want them, they help decide what is cooked and when, and they come and go to college, work, clubs and family as they choose. Our role is to make that ordinary life possible, not to organise it on anyone's behalf. Some of the people we support have loss of sight or hearing alongside their other needs, so we take communication seriously and use whatever combination of speech, signing, symbols and familiarity works for the individual. Getting that right is often the difference between somebody being included in a decision and simply being told about it afterwards. We also offer short respite stays, which can give a family carer a break or let someone see how they get on here before committing to anything longer. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to look round or talk about a placement, please get in touch.
