About Lawrence Mews
Lawrence Mews is a residential care home in Nottingham. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Having a mixed group under one roof is something we plan for rather than something that simply happens. A younger adult working towards more independence and an older resident who mainly wants a settled, unhurried day are looking for very different things, and support here is built around the individual rather than around a single house routine. What we provide is residential care. Staff are on duty through the night as well as the day to help with personal care, dressing, medication and meals, while doctors and district nurses come in for clinical needs. For most people that combination works well and leaves their independence largely intact. For autistic residents and people with a learning disability we pay particular attention to predictability. Routines that hold, clear information, honest notice before anything changes and real choice head off far more difficulty than any response after the event. Nottingham is on the doorstep, and keeping up with family, friends, work or college is part of the ordinary week here. Respite stays are available.
