About Byron Court
Byron Court is a residential care home in Nottingham supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss. Support is planned one person at a time, because the needs here are so varied. Some residents want help with most of the day, including personal care and help to move about safely. Others need very little of that but rely on us for structure, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a hard day looks like for them. We take our time working that out and we ask the people who know somebody well. Everyday life covers the ordinary business of a household: cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room as you want it, choosing how to spend the weekend and getting out locally. We support people to do what they can for themselves and we help properly where help is needed. For residents with mental health needs a calm and predictable household matters more than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. Where there is sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Respite stays are available and give family carers a genuine break. Please contact us if you would like to look round.
