About Haydon View Residential Home
Haydon View Residential Home is a care home in Hexham, Northumberland. We provide residential care for older people and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. In a country town, a care home is not separate from the place around it. Families call in without ceremony, people go out into the town, and a fair number of our residents knew one another long before they came to live here. We try not to waste that. Keeping somebody connected to their own community does more good than most of what we could organise indoors. Inside, the day belongs to the residents. People get up when they want, eat what they want and spend their time where they choose. Rooms belong to the people in them, with their own furniture and pictures, and staff are there to make those choices workable and to notice quietly when somebody is not quite right. Respite stays give family carers a proper break and let somebody try the home before deciding about anything longer. A short stay gets the same welcome as a permanent one. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to come and look round, with or without an appointment, and to talk to the people who live here.
