About Victoria Court
Victoria Court is a residential care home in Weston Super Mare, North Somerset. We support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people managing mental health conditions. We run this as a household rather than an institution. Residents choose how they spend their days, take part in cooking, shopping and looking after the place if they want to, and arrange their own rooms. Support is agreed with each person, written in a way they can understand and check, and reviewed with them rather than about them. Getting the basics right prevents most difficulties. We learn how somebody communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and what helps on a hard day. For autistic residents we take particular care over predictability, quiet space and clear information about what is coming next. For people living with mental health conditions we plan for the difficult periods as well as the settled ones, so that support is ready rather than improvised. Nobody should have to give up their outside life to live here. People keep in touch with family and friends, go out, attend college, work or clubs, and take up new interests when they want to. Respite stays are available so that families can take a planned break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
