About Alice House
Alice House is a residential care home in Weston Super Mare. We are a permanent home to older people and to some younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with personal care, moving about safely, medication and meals, and reassurance that somebody is nearby through the night. Many are living with dementia, and we let that shape the whole house rather than treating it as a separate wing. The day follows a recognisable pattern, familiar staff are around, people keep their own belongings and habits, and somebody who is anxious gets company and time rather than correction. We try to keep the place feeling ordinary. Food is cooked on the premises and people are asked what they would like, there is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, the seafront is close enough for a trip out when the weather is kind, and nobody is obliged to join in with anything. Visitors do not need an appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Choosing a home for yourself or a relative is a hard thing to do, so please come and visit, more than once if that helps, and ask us whatever you need to know.
