Here at Ashcombe Court, we are a residential care home based in Weston Super Mare, North Somerset, and we are proud to support a wide range of people within our local community and beyond. We specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, and those requiring residential care on either a longer term or respite basis. Respite care is something we take seriously here. We understand that both the people we support and their families sometimes need a planned break, and we aim to make that experience as comfortable and familiar as possible from the very first visit. Our approach is straightforward. We get to know each person properly, understand what matters to them, and work alongside them and the people who know them best to make sure their care reflects who they actually are rather than just a list of needs on a form. For people with autism or learning disabilities in particular, consistency and familiarity really do make a difference, and we put a lot of thought into how we can provide that day to day. Mental health support is also central to what we do. We recognise that this looks different for everyone, and we try to create an environment where people feel settled, respected, and genuinely at ease. We were pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of Good. That outcome reflects the effort our whole team puts in, but we never see it as a reason to stand still. We are always looking at how we can do things better for the people living with us.
