About Gough House
At Gough House, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Weston Super Mare, North Somerset. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our team puts in day to day to make sure every resident feels safe, respected and at home. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. From the moment someone walks through our door, whether for a permanent place or a period of respite care, we work hard to get to know them as an individual. Their routines, preferences, interests and life history all matter to us, and we use that knowledge to shape the care and support we provide. Our dementia care is something we put a great deal of thought into. Living with dementia can be disorienting and unsettling, and we focus on creating an environment and a daily rhythm that helps residents feel calm, familiar and connected. We work closely with families throughout this journey, keeping communication open and honest so that nobody feels left in the dark. For those who need a shorter stay, our respite care offers families a chance to take a break knowing their loved one is in good hands. We treat every respite resident with the same care and attention as those who live with us permanently, and many families return to us time and again because of that experience. Weston Super Mare is a community we are genuinely part of, and we take pride in being a care home that people locally trust and feel comfortable recommending. If you would like to find out more or come and have a look around, we would be very happy to welcome you.
