About Penrith Drive
Penrith Drive is a small residential home in Wellingborough supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays, planned in advance so that a short stay is a visit somewhere familiar rather than somewhere strange. We run the house as the residents' home rather than as our workplace. People choose how their bedrooms look, have a real say in the meals and the shopping, and get involved in cooking, laundry and looking after the place as much as they want to. Support covers personal care where it is needed, medication, health appointments and managing money, and it covers getting out to the things people care about locally. We pay close attention to how each person communicates, whether that is through speech, signs, symbols, a device or their behaviour. We should be honest with you about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that here than let you find it elsewhere. We know what the inspectors raised with us, we are working through it, and we will discuss any part of it openly with families and professionals who ask. Please come and visit, meet the people who live here and ask us the difficult questions.
