About Oakfield (Easton Maudit)
Oakfield at Easton Maudit is a residential care home in the countryside near Wellingborough. We support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, along with people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays. Because the people who live here need quite different things, we take care to be specific rather than general. Where somebody has a physical disability, we put real effort into the practical detail, because equipment, hoists, transfers, seating and access are what decide whether a person can get where they want to go. Where somebody has a learning disability or is autistic, we concentrate on predictable routines, clear information given in good time, and understanding how that individual communicates, whether that is through speech, signs, symbols, a device or their behaviour. Where dementia or mental ill health is part of the picture, we keep the day recognisable, keep the same familiar staff around, and work closely with the community teams involved. The setting is quiet and there are grounds that get used. Beyond that, this is somebody's home: people choose how their rooms look and how their week is spent. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit.
