About Laxton Hall

Laxton Hall is a residential care home near Corby for older people, including those living with dementia. The house sits in its own grounds, and a walk outside in decent weather is part of ordinary life here rather than an occasion. We provide residential care, help with the things that have become difficult, and company for people who had begun to find home a lonely place. Support with washing, dressing, medication and mobility is given discreetly by staff who know how each person likes things done, and we write that down so it does not depend on who is on shift. For people living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried. We ask families to tell us about the life behind the person, including the work they did and the family they talk about, and we use it in conversation and to steady things when somebody is distressed. Meals are cooked on the premises and mealtimes stay sociable and relaxed. Relatives are part of the household as far as we are concerned, and visiting is not rationed. Short respite stays are available, often for people recovering after a spell in hospital or to give a carer at home a proper rest. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to arrange a visit.
