About Taverham Grove
Taverham Grove is a residential care home near Norwich, caring for older people who can no longer manage safely on their own. We aim for the atmosphere of a house rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a real say in how the day goes. We support people living with dementia, where a steady and familiar routine is worth more than anything else we could provide, and people with sight or hearing loss, where sensible practical adjustments often make more difference to a day than anything else. We also care for younger adults, planning their day around their own interests rather than around everybody else's. Respite stays are available too, for people who need care for a short while after illness and for family carers who need a proper break. We plan short stays with the same attention as a permanent move, so nobody arrives feeling temporary. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we do, the honest answer is that you should come and look. See whether people are up and occupied, whether mealtimes are sociable and whether the staff talk about the people here as individuals. That will tell you more than any document.
