About Cascade (Charlton House)
We are Cascade at Charlton House in Norwich, a residential care home supporting younger adults with a learning disability and adults who are autistic. We also offer respite stays. Support here is built around individuals rather than around a house routine. We take the time to learn how each person communicates, what they enjoy, what unsettles them and how they like things done, and the week is shaped by what the person wants from it. That might mean college, work, volunteering, regular time with family, or a settled routine that nobody interferes with. People choose their own food, keep their own belongings and habits, and have a real say in how the house is run. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we support that steadily and at their pace, and we expect it to take as long as it takes. When a person becomes distressed, we treat it as information rather than as a problem to be controlled. There is nearly always a reason, and knowing somebody well is what allows us to find it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of it, and we know it has to be earned again every day. If you would like to visit or discuss a placement, please get in touch.
