About Shalimar
Here at Shalimar, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Norwich, Norfolk. We are a care home that specialises in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, including younger adults who need a place that genuinely understands their needs and takes the time to get to know them as individuals. We know that choosing a care home, whether for yourself or someone you love, is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We do not take that lightly. Our approach is straightforward: we listen, we learn what matters to each person, and we build their support around that. Routines, preferences, interests and relationships all shape the way we work with the people who live here. Alongside our residential care, we also offer respite care, which gives family carers a chance to rest while knowing their loved one is somewhere safe, familiar and well supported. We work hard to make sure that respite stays feel settled and positive rather than unsettling, and many of the people who come to us for short breaks become familiar faces over time. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as Good. That means a great deal to us, not just as a formal recognition but as a reflection of the everyday effort our team puts in. We hold ourselves to a high standard because the people we support deserve nothing less. If you are exploring options and would like to have a conversation about whether Shalimar could be the right fit, we would be very happy to hear from you. You are always welcome to come and see us, ask questions and get a feel for who we are. We believe the best way to understand what we offer is simply to come and meet us.
