About Klair House

Klair House is a residential care home in Norwich, Norfolk. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people living with mental health needs, and we also offer respite stays. A small residential home works best when it is run around the people in it rather than around a timetable. Everyone here has a room that is theirs to arrange as they like, a say in the food, and a say in how the week is spent. Support with washing, dressing, medication, money and appointments is there for whoever needs it, offered in the way that person prefers and at the point in the day that suits them. We put a lot of thought into communication and into routine. For many of the people who live with us, knowing what is coming is what makes the day feel manageable, so we are careful about changes, we explain them in advance, and we accept that some things are non negotiable for good reason. Mental health needs and learning disability often sit together, and neither is a fixed state. Some weeks ask more of us than others, and that is expected rather than a crisis. Respite guests are treated exactly as everybody else here is. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would be glad to show you round.
