About Homestead House
Here at Homestead House, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Norwich, Norfolk. We also offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give family carers some well earned time to rest. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family will make, and we do not take that lightly. When someone moves in with us, we take time to understand who they are, what matters to them, and how they like their days to look. Care is personal, and we try to reflect that in everything we do. Our team works hard to create a calm, homely environment where residents feel settled and genuinely at ease. We support people living with dementia with patience and consistency, building routines that offer reassurance and familiarity. For those with us on a respite basis, we aim to make the stay feel as comfortable and welcoming as a longer term placement. We want to be straightforward with you: our most recent Care Quality Commission rating is "requires improvement", and we are taking that seriously. We have been working through the areas identified in our inspection and making real changes to how we operate. We would encourage any family to come and visit us, ask questions, and see the home for themselves rather than making a judgement on a rating alone. We are committed to demonstrating through our actions that standards here are moving in the right direction. If you would like to find out more about Homestead House or arrange a visit, please do get in touch. We are always happy to have an honest conversation about how we might be able to support you or your loved one.
