About Heron Lea Residential Home
We are a residential care home in Norwich, offering a permanent home to older people, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We also take respite bookings, which can be planned in advance so a family carer gets a break, or arranged more quickly when someone needs support for a while after an illness. Moving into a care home is a considerable change and we do not treat it lightly. The first weeks matter, so we spend them finding out how somebody has always done things. When they like to wake and go to bed, what they eat and what they will not touch, whether they want company or their own space, what they used to do for work or for pleasure. Care that ignores all that might be safe, but it will not feel like living anywhere. For people living with dementia, the steadiness of the day does a lot of the work. Familiar faces, an unhurried pace and staff who know how to read what someone is telling them when the words are hard to find. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome to visit and we would encourage you to do so before making any decision. Please contact us and we will arrange a time that suits you.
