About Harvey Lane
Our home on Harvey Lane in Norwich is a residential care home supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and older people who need help with daily life. Many of those who live here are younger adults, and the house is run with that in mind. Support is planned one person at a time. Some residents want help with most parts of the day; others need very little practical help but rely on us for routine, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a difficult day looks like for them. We take our time over that at the start and we listen to the people who know somebody best. Everyday life covers the ordinary business of a household: cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room how you like it, choosing what to do at the weekend and getting out into the city. We support people to do what they can for themselves, even when that takes longer than doing it for them. Our staff are trained in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed, and we keep the team settled so people are not always adjusting to new faces. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see the house.
