About Engelhard Lodge Care Home
Engelhard Lodge is a residential care home in Norwich, Norfolk. We care for older adults who are no longer able to manage at home, and our intention is that people should feel they live here, with their own things around them and their own way of doing things respected. Our residential care covers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility and company, given in a way that protects independence rather than quietly removing it. Many residents live with dementia, and we put our effort into consistency: familiar faces, a recognisable routine and reassurance offered as often as it is needed rather than once. We also support residents living with mental health conditions, where a settled environment and staff who spot early changes count for a great deal, and residents with physical disabilities or with a visual or hearing impairment, where we adapt how we communicate and how we help people move about so that dignity is never the thing that gets sacrificed. Respite stays are available as well, giving family carers a genuine rest and offering a gentle way of trying the home first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are proud of that without treating it as the end of the matter, and visitors are welcome to come and see whether the home feels right for someone they love.
