About Lizbis Care Home
We are Lizbis Care Home, a residential care home in Rochester, Medway. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people managing mental health conditions, and we also offer respite stays. Our intention is a home that runs around its residents. People choose when they get up, what they eat, how they spend the day and whether they want company or quiet. Rooms are personalised with people's own belongings, and families are welcome to visit throughout the day and to be involved in care as much as they wish. Dementia care is a significant part of our work, and we approach it with patience and consistency. Familiar faces, calm surroundings and staff who understand a person's history make a considerable difference to how settled somebody feels. We should be plain about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have taken those findings seriously, discussed them openly with our staff, our residents and their families, and we are working through them in an orderly way rather than looking for quick reassurance. We are happy to talk about what has been done and what is still outstanding. If you are considering a care home in the Rochester area, please come and visit us. Ask hard questions, meet the people who live here and make your own judgement about how we answer.
