About Woodbridge House
Woodbridge House is a residential care home in Gillingham supporting older people, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with a physical disability, including younger adults. Our approach does not change from one person to the next. We take time to learn how somebody communicates, what a good day looks like for them and what tends to make a difficult one, and then we build their support around that rather than fitting everybody into the same routine. Where a person can take on more for themselves, whether that is helping with meals, looking after their own room or getting out locally, we make room for it rather than stepping in out of habit. Life here runs around the people who live in the house. People get up when they are ready, spend their time on things they actually enjoy and keep their own belongings and routines around them. Respite stays are available too, for people who need support for a short period and for family carers who need a proper break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The measure we trust more is whether people here look at ease and whether relatives feel welcome to drop in and ask anything. They always are.
