About Welcome House - Leeza Court
Leeza Court is part of the Welcome House family of homes and stands in Gillingham, in Medway. We provide residential care for adults who live with a mental health condition, both for people who make their home here and for those who come to us for a planned respite stay. Recovery is not a straight line and we do not pretend otherwise. Some of the people who come to Leeza Court have had long periods of instability or time in hospital and need a settled base before anything else becomes possible. Others are managing well and want a place where support is there if a bad spell arrives. Our role is to provide that stability, keep watching for early signs that somebody is struggling, and act on them quickly with the community teams we work alongside. What we try hardest to do is keep ordinary life going. Residents have a say in how the house runs, in meals and in the shape of the week. We support people to manage their own medication where they can, to look after their money, to keep appointments and to stay in touch with the people who matter to them. Where somebody wants to work, study or volunteer, we help them pursue it. Staff here are trained to work calmly and consistently, to take distress seriously without overreacting to it, and to treat residents as adults making their own decisions. If you are a family member or a professional looking for a placement in Medway, please contact us and arrange to visit.
