About The Bancroft Residential Home
We are The Bancroft Residential Home in Spalding, Lincolnshire. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also take respite bookings for shorter stays. We keep things deliberately homely. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you like to wake, where you want your breakfast, whether you feel sociable today or would rather sit quietly with the paper: those decisions stay with you. A good deal of what makes a day here pleasant is quite ordinary, and we would rather describe it plainly than dress it up. For people living with dementia the useful work is in the detail. Knowing somebody's history and the work they did, recognising early what tends to unsettle them, being willing to go at their pace rather than the rota's. Done properly that prevents a great deal of distress before it starts. We are also careful to support what people can still do for themselves, because that is often what worries people most about moving into a home, and losing it is not inevitable. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour, and we would always rather hear about a concern while it is small. Please ring us to arrange a look round.
