About Manor Care Home
We are a residential care home in Sleaford, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia, people with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Our aim is a settled house where help is close at hand without taking over somebody's life. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Where someone needs help with washing, dressing or moving about, we try to give it without hurry and without doing more of the task than is actually needed. Dementia care rests on knowing the person rather than following a procedure, so we ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits. That knowledge is worth more than any written plan when somebody is frightened or cannot place where they are. Meals are cooked here and we listen when somebody would rather have something different. Family and friends are welcome whenever they wish to come. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that openly. Please come and look round before deciding anything. We will be straight with you about whether we can meet the needs you describe.
