About Cherry Tree Lodge
Cherry Tree Lodge is a residential home in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, and it is home to adults with learning disabilities and to autistic adults. We also offer respite stays, which we plan properly in advance so that a short stay feels like a visit to somewhere familiar rather than a disruption. We are a small house and we run it like one. People have their own rooms and their own things, they help decide what goes on the shopping list, and they get involved in cooking, laundry and looking after the place if that is what they want. Support here is about opening doors: getting to college or to work, keeping up with family, using the shops and the leisure centre in town, and having a proper say in how the week is arranged. We take communication seriously. We learn how each person tells us what they want, whether that is through speech, signs, symbols, a device or the way they behave, and we build the support around what we learn rather than around what is convenient for us. When something is not working we say so and change it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with that, though the people who live here are the better judges of us. Families, social workers and health colleagues are always welcome to come and look.
