About Byron House
We are Byron House in Skegness, Lincolnshire. We are a residential home supporting adults living with mental health conditions, including younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for people who need care for a short period. A great deal of our work is about stability. For many of the people who live here, having somewhere settled to be, a predictable rhythm to the week and staff who know them properly is what makes everything else possible. We are not running a treatment programme. We are running a decent home in which people can get on with their lives while getting the support they need. That means treating adults as adults. People come and go, manage their own money as far as they are able, keep in touch with family and friends, and decide how they spend their days. We help with medication, appointments, benefits, meals and the practical problems that arise, and we work alongside local mental health teams and GPs so that support is joined up rather than scattered. We ask regularly for views from the people who live here and from their families and advocates, and we would always rather hear about a problem early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our own practice regardless. If you are considering a placement in the Skegness area, please arrange to come and see us.
