About Charnwood Lodge
Charnwood Lodge is a residential care home in Loughborough. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people living with mental ill health. We keep the house small in feel and steady in routine. Everyone has their own room and their own way of doing things, and we ask about those habits before somebody moves in so that the move does not mean starting from scratch. Help with washing, dressing and medication is offered quietly and at the person's own pace. Because the people who live here are at different stages of life and want different things, we plan individually. Some want to be out during the week, at activities, at work or seeing family in the town. Others want the house to stay quiet and predictable. Neither is treated as a problem, and support is arranged to suit. Where mental ill health is part of the picture we work closely with community teams and involve the person properly in decisions rather than talking over them. Where someone has a learning disability or is autistic, we use the way of communicating that already works for them and take the time to get it right. Short respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You would be welcome to visit and see how the house runs on a normal day.
