About Country Court
Country Court provides residential care in Hull for older people, including people living with dementia, and we also take planned respite stays. Most of what makes a care home work is ordinary and daily. Getting up at a reasonable hour of your own choosing, food you actually want to eat, a familiar face on shift, and somebody noticing when you are quieter than usual. That is what we put our effort into. For residents living with dementia, familiarity and an unhurried approach prevent far more distress than they cost, so we keep the shape of the day recognisable and give people time to do things at their own pace. We ought to be plain about where we stand with the regulator. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to dress that up. It reflected genuine shortfalls, and our manager and staff team have been working through the findings, with closer attention to medicines, clearer records, more training and supervision, and regular internal checks so that gaps come to light quickly. Improvement has to be shown rather than announced, and we are not finished. If you are thinking about us for somebody you love, please come and look round, ask what specifically has changed since the inspection, and speak to residents and relatives while you are here rather than relying on our account of ourselves.
