About Alexandra Court Care Centre

We are Alexandra Court Care Centre, a residential care home in Hull supporting older people who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, alongside younger adults whose needs mean living independently is no longer workable. This is somebody's home first, and we try to keep that true in the ordinary details of the day rather than only in how we describe ourselves. People keep their own rooms, their own belongings and as much of their own routine as they wish. Help with washing, dressing, medication and getting about is given at the person's pace. For those living with dementia we pay close attention to familiar objects, familiar faces and a steady rhythm, and we take time to learn a life history so that reassurance rests on something real. We also offer respite stays, which give family carers a planned break and give the person staying a change of company and surroundings. We want to be straightforward with anyone considering us. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as requires improvement overall, and we are not going to talk around that. We know which areas were identified and we are working through them, and we would far rather discuss that openly with families than have them find out later. Relatives and friends are welcome here and we would rather hear a concern early than have it go unsaid. If you are looking at homes in Hull, please visit us and ask us direct questions.
