For our younger adult residents, we think carefully about how we can meet needs that may look quite different from those of our older residents, making sure no one feels out of place or overlooked. Respite care is something we take seriously too. Whether a carer needs a break or someone is recovering and needs short term support, we aim to make that stay as settled and comfortable as possible, even if the person is only with us for a short while. Safe
People told inspectors they felt safe at the home. Staff understood their role in keeping people safe from abuse. Risks were assessed and plans were updated during people's stay. Medicines were managed safely by trained staff. The home was clean, and there were enough staff who had been recruited safely.
Effective
People's needs were assessed before they used the service. They were supported to have food and drink they enjoyed, in a way that helped them stay healthy. Staff worked closely with other professionals to support people's health. Inspectors found effective systems for people moving in and out of the service.
Caring
People and their loved ones told inspectors that staff were welcoming and supportive. People were involved in planning their own care, both at the service and when they moved on. Staff supported people to keep and develop their independent skills.
Responsive
People received care based on their needs and preferences. Care plans matched the care given and included details about each person's life history and end of life wishes. People could take part in a range of activities and have visitors at any time. Complaints were dealt with in line with the provider's procedure.
Well-led
People and staff told inspectors the management team were approachable and open to suggestions. Audits were completed, and accidents and incidents were reviewed. Shortfalls were found and action was taken. At the last inspection, published 02 August 2018, the rating was requires improvement with multiple breaches of regulation. At this inspection, inspectors found improvements and the provider was no longer in breach.

People and their loved ones told inspectors that staff were welcoming and supportive. People said they felt safe at the service. People were also asked for their views through surveys and residents' meetings.
