About Pelham Manor
Pelham Manor in Gravesend is a residential care home supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We run this as somebody's home and not as a unit. Everybody has their own room and their own possessions, and the day belongs to the people who live here. Support is agreed with the person and those who know them well, and it ranges from full help with personal care through to prompting and quiet encouragement while somebody does things for themselves. We pay close attention to communication. Learning how each person expresses themselves, what settles them and what they are telling us when they are unhappy is the core of doing this properly, and what we learn is recorded so that the whole team works in the same way. People are supported to get out and about in Gravesend and further afield, to keep up interests and activities, and to stay in contact with family and friends. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for somebody, please get in touch. We will assess carefully and say honestly whether we can meet the need.
