About Generals Meadow
Generals Meadow is a residential care home in Deal, and we support older people who can no longer manage easily at home but who still want a say in how each day goes. We are not a nursing home, so the care we give is personal and practical: help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, good meals, and company when somebody wants it. We keep life here as ordinary as we can. Residents choose when to get up, where to sit, what to watch and whether to join in, and we would rather work around somebody's habits than ask them to fit around ours. Many of our residents have lived in this part of Kent for years, and being close to the coast and to familiar streets means visits from family and old neighbours stay easy. We also offer respite stays, which can be a sensible way to give a family carer a rest, to try out life in a care home before making a permanent decision, or to build strength back up after illness. People staying with us for a short while are treated exactly like everyone else. If you are considering a home for yourself or a relative, the best thing is to come and see us. Have a look round, talk to the staff, and ask us the awkward questions. We would rather you chose us with your eyes open.
