Here at Sea Gables Residential Home, we are proud to be a well established care home nestled in the coastal town of Shanklin on the beautiful Isle of Wight. Our setting offers a genuine sense of home, somewhere people feel safe, valued and truly looked after as individuals rather than as residents on a rota. We support adults with a range of needs, including those living with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions. We also offer respite care for those who need a short break or a period of supported recovery. Whatever brings someone through our door, we take time to understand who they are, what matters to them, and how we can best support their day to day life and longer term wellbeing. Our team works hard to create an environment that feels calm, consistent and genuinely caring. We believe that good care comes from really knowing the people we support, building trust over time and being honest with residents and their families every step of the way. We communicate openly, welcome questions and encourage family members to be involved as much as they would like to be. We are pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of Good, which reflects the effort and commitment our whole team brings to their work each day. That said, we are always looking at how we can do better and we never treat a good rating as a reason to stand still. Shanklin itself is a lovely place to call home, with easy access to the seafront, local shops and green spaces, all of which we make the most of when supporting residents to enjoy life in the community.
