About Esplanade House
Esplanade House is a residential care home in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, alongside older people who need residential care, and we welcome younger adults too. We try to run the house as a household. People are involved in decisions about meals, routines and how their own space looks, and support is offered rather than imposed. Our starting point is always the individual, how they communicate, what settles them, what they want their week to contain, and we write that down properly so the whole team works the same way. Being in Ryde means the seafront, the shops and the ferry are all part of ordinary life, and getting out into the town matters as much to us as anything indoors. We support people to keep up work, college, clubs, faith and friendships, and to see family as often as they want to. Respite stays are available as well, offering a planned break for people who usually live at home with relatives. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We work openly with families, social workers and health colleagues, and we would rather raise something early than let it grow. If you are considering a placement on the Island, please come and visit.
