About Cottage
Here at Ryde Cottage, we are a care home based in the heart of Ryde on the beautiful Isle of Wight, and we take genuine pride in the community we have built here. We support a wide range of individuals, including older people, those living with dementia, people with learning disabilities or autism, those experiencing mental health difficulties, and individuals with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults and offer respite care for those who need a short stay, whether to recover, to give family members a rest, or simply to experience a change of surroundings. Our approach is straightforward. We get to know each person properly, understanding what matters to them, how they like to spend their time, and what makes them feel at home. Care is not something we do to people here; it is something we work through together with residents and their families. We believe that good care shows itself in the small things as much as the big ones, in how someone is spoken to, whether their preferences are remembered, and whether they feel genuinely settled and safe. We are pleased to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the honest, consistent effort our team puts in day to day. It means a great deal to us, though we are always looking at how we can do better. Being on the Isle of Wight gives us a real sense of place. Ryde is a warm, close knit town and we feel very much part of it. Families who visit often comment on the atmosphere here, and that matters enormously to us.
