About Sewells
Here at Sewells, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. We are a care home that specialises in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, as well as younger adults who need a safe, comfortable and genuinely homely place to live or to stay for a short period of respite. We understand that choosing a care home, whether for yourself or someone you love, is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We take that responsibility seriously. Our aim is straightforward: to make sure every person who comes through our door feels respected, understood and at ease. We get to know each individual properly, because good care only comes from genuinely understanding the people we support, their routines, their preferences, their personalities and what matters most to them. Our team works hard to create an environment that feels like a real home rather than an institution. We encourage the people we support to live as independently as possible, to make choices about their day to day lives, and to take part in activities and experiences that are meaningful to them. For those who stay with us for a shorter period, we aim to provide the same warmth and consistency that longer term residents enjoy, so that respite care feels like a positive break rather than an unsettling change. We are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the commitment our team brings to their work every day. We are always looking at how we can do things better, and we welcome open, honest conversations with residents, families and those who support them. If you would like to find out more about life at Sewells or discuss whether we might be the right fit, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
