About The Minims (12 & 31)
The Minims (12 & 31) is a residential care setting in Hatfield, and we work in a deliberately domestic way. These are houses where people live, not units where care is delivered, and the difference shows in how the day runs. We support older people, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with a physical disability. Because our houses are small, the team know each person properly rather than working from written notes, which matters enormously when someone communicates in their own way or when a shift in mood is the first sign that something is wrong. Life here runs around the people who live in the house. People get up when they are ready, spend their time on things they actually enjoy and keep as much charge of their own day as they want. Where someone can take on more for themselves, whether that is helping with meals, looking after their own room or getting out locally, we make room for it rather than stepping in automatically. We offer respite stays as well, for people needing support for a short period and for families who need a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. What tells us more is whether people living here seem relaxed and whether relatives feel welcome to visit whenever suits them. They are.
