About The Cedars
The Cedars is a residential care home in Gloucester, and we support a wide mix of adults who have come to us for very different reasons. Some are older people who simply need more help than can be managed at home. Some are living with dementia and need a settled place where the day has a shape to it. Others are younger adults with a learning disability, autism, a mental health need or a physical disability, and their support is built around independence, activity and a life that looks like their own rather than one arranged for them. We think a care home should feel like a household. People choose how they spend their time, where they sit, who they spend it with and when they want their own company instead. Staff know the small details that matter, the way someone takes their tea, the programme they will not miss, the subject that will always start a conversation. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a genuine break or give someone a chance to try life here before making a longer decision. Short stays get the same attention as permanent ones. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We are proud of that and we treat it as a floor rather than a ceiling. If you would like to look around, please arrange a visit. Coming in, meeting people and seeing an ordinary day here will tell you far more than anything we can write.
