About Robins
Robins is a residential care home in Gloucester supporting adults who need a settled place of their own and the right help to live the life they want. We work with people who have a learning disability, autistic people and people living with a mental health condition, including younger adults. We try to run the house the way a household runs rather than the way a service runs. People are involved in the everyday decisions, from what goes on the shopping list to how a room is arranged, and support is offered rather than imposed. Where someone wants to take a risk that most adults take, our job is to work out how to make it safe enough, not to rule it out. Support covers personal care, health appointments, medication, meals and money, alongside encouragement to use Gloucester properly, whether that means college, a job, a club, a place of worship or just a regular walk and a coffee. We also offer respite stays for people living at home with family, giving everyone a planned break in surroundings that become familiar quickly. We work openly with families, social workers and health colleagues and would always rather raise something early. If you are looking at a placement in Gloucestershire, please arrange to visit and see how the house actually feels.
